Jane Goodall, the Winner of the 2021 Templeton Prize for Her Work on Animal Intelligence and Humanity


Jane Goodall, the honorary President of International College of Practice and Education for the Environment (ICPEE) in Chang Jung Christian University (CJCU) won the 2021 Templeton Prize on May 20th in recognition of her life’s work on animal intelligence, environmental sustainability, and humanity. Under her guidance, CJCU fulfilled its university social responsibility (USR) through both local and international actions following Dr. Goodall’s philosophy of sustainability. Established in 1972 by Sir John Templeton, the Templeton Prize was presented annually to a living person who has “made an exceptional contribution to affirming life’s spiritual dimension, whether through insight, discovery, or practical works with the spirit that would clearly include prayer, thanksgiving, love, and a pursuit of the Divine,” according to its website.
